The Business Development Representative will be responsible for new account acquisition focusing on SM & growth accounts across multiple beverage markets in various geographic markets with the US for Beverage Business Unit. The incumbent will execute on leads from the lead generation roles in marketing, identify key prospects, contact decision makers, and arrange business meetings to understand and assess customer needs. They will use their strong understanding of the packaging process to promote Amcor's products that address customer needs. The BDR will provide leadership and technical expertise and translate gaps and needs of brand‑owners and co‑packers into actionable strategies. Development of strategic and value‑added relationships with customers will be critical to advancing short‑ and longer‑term growth objectives. This position will generate new revenue and profit by offering product and service solutions to targeted prospects and will be responsible for executing Business Development strategies and closing new customer deals.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Develop a strategic approach to create engagement and win new business

Lead pipeline of new business opportunities in compliance with the Sales Funnel management process

Develop business plans including financial analysis, competitive analysis and value proposition

Deliver revenue growth and generate profit from direct penetration of new accounts

Prospect for new customers and drive new business opportunities aligned with Amcor portfolio

Translate research conclusions into actionable business concepts and plans for broader review and discussion

Promote new products and gain exposure within target markets

Collaborate closely with Marketing (e.g. Lead Generation)

Build a strong external network of key influencers and collaborators within the industry, including co‑packers, machine suppliers, OEMs, industry associations, and senior decision makers at targeted accounts

Manage customer relationships and effectively negotiate business deals

Seek out the appropriate contact within the new business opportunity and generate leads, including cold calling where necessary

Foster and develop initial business relationships with new customers and prospects'

Manage cross‑functional relationships to create business development strategies and support commercialization and onboarding with other key areas (internal and external)

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on the development and implementation of defined strategy (technology, product management, commercial) for the market and targeted segments

Maintain effective relationships with cross‑functional teams to translate customer needs into winning value propositions

Skills Required

Experience with customer‑facing business development activities; “hunting” mindset

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work creatively and analytically in a fast‑paced environment

Strong relationship building skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication skills

Result‑oriented, tenacious, and capable of influencing and persuading stakeholders

Professional integrity and work ethic; high emotional judgment

60% travel expected

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Proven track record of successful business development and commercial success

Experience with negotiations and strong influencing skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
