HVAC Mechanical Estimator
Lexington, Kentucky

This is a salary position with commission opportunities per project involvement!
Responsibilities:
50%: Drawing Analysis and Material Estimation
Analyze technical drawings and specifications to accurately determine project requirements.
Generate material lists and perform take-offs for HVAC mechanical systems.
Coordinate with design teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project plans.
25%: Vendor Management and Quoting
Liaise with vendors to obtain quotes for equipment and materials required for projects.
Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Integrate vendor quotes into bid files and proposals.
25%: Administrative Tasks and Proposal Development
Manage miscellaneous administrative tasks related to project estimation.
Participate in meetings to discuss project requirements and progress (5-10%).
Develop comprehensive proposals outlining project scope, timeline, and costs.
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years estimating experience on large HVAC/Sheet Metal/Piping/Plumbing commercial projects
Hydronic Expertise
Proficiency in hydronic systems including knowledge of components required for air handling units and boiler VA systems.
Ability to interpret system requirements not explicitly outlined in drawings.
Team Collaboration
Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in on-screen take-off software and other relevant computer applications.
Desired Experience
Experience in pipefitting or fieldwork within the HVAC industry is desirable.
Background in engineering would be advantageous.
Attention to Detail
Ability to identify and rectify errors in system designs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in project execution.
