Position Title [Learn/Earn] Clerical Assistant

Job Summary This position supports the LBCC Foundation team in a public‑facing environment. Helps bring donor appreciation to life by managing thank you letters, acknowledgments, and database updates. Assists with Foundation events and office organization projects that keep operations running smoothly. Works alongside the Scholarship and Donor Relations Manager and Financial Operations Specialist to support meaningful connections between donors and students.

Required Qualifications Knowledge and Skills

Basic office skills and comfort with computers and general office equipment.

Good communication skills for phone, email, and in‑person interactions.

Ability to write clearly and professionally.

Abilities

Works efficiently with minimal supervision while following established guidelines.

Can prepare letters and materials using word processing. Learns and applies college policies and procedures.

Operates office equipment and relevant software used at LBCC. Stays organized, completes tasks as assigned, and manages time well.

Communicates clearly and courteously with diverse populations, both in person and over the phone.

Works respectfully with individuals from all cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Education and Experience

Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better to be eligible to work in a Learn & Earn student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in office or administrative work is helpful but not required.

Physical Skills and Abilities

Comfortable sitting at a computer for extended periods.

Able to lift, carry, kneel, and move materials weighing 10 to 25 pounds.

Can operate computers and standard office equipment.

Communicates effectively in person and over the phone.

Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Foundation processes is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work takes place in a typical office setting.

Some evening or weekend hours may be available for Foundation events.

Occasional travel to other LBCC campuses. Physical tasks such as lifting, setting up, and breaking down event materials may be required.

Considerable time is spent working at a computer.

Provides support for Foundation events, including setup, coordination, and other event‑related tasks as needed.

Assists the Scholarship and Donor Relations Manager with administrative tasks, including scanning student thank you letters and uploading them to the donor database.

Assists the Financial Operations Specialist with printing and organizing donation acknowledgment letters for the Foundation Executive Director to sign.

Maintains confidentiality of donor and student information, ensuring security of sensitive files and records.

Assists with organizing, scanning, filing, and general office projects.

Provides light communication support, including composing emails, letters, and other correspondence as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
