The 365‑bed facility is one of the largest free‑standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37‑acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside’s comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse. The Certified Peer Specialist will contribute in a peer support capacity to facilitate recovery and enhance wellness. The Certified Peer Specialist serves as a role model for recovery for staff and consumers and helps consumers to develop self‑help skills and build support networks. The Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support in a manner that positively supports facility operations in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health System. Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience:
A minimum of three years’ experience in a mental healthcare field preferred. One year experience in negotiating the mental health system (crisis services, vocational rehabilitation, human services, etc.) Licensure/Certification:
Current credentialing as a Certified Peer Specialist through the Department of Behavioral Health and Mental Retardation Services preferred. Valid TN driver’s license and MVR that complies with facility policy. Universal Health Services (UHS)
