The 365‑bed facility is one of the largest free‑standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, located on a serene 37‑acre campus in northeast Shelby County and serving children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Job Description The Certified Peer Specialist will contribute in a peer‑support capacity to facilitate recovery and enhance wellness.
The Certified Peer Specialist serves as a role model for recovery for staff and consumers and helps consumers to develop self‑help skills and build support networks.
The Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support in a manner that positively supports facility operations in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health System.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of three years’ experience in a mental healthcare field preferred. One year experience in negotiating the mental health system (crisis services, vocational rehabilitation, human services,
Licensure/Certification:
Current credentialing as a Certified Peer Specialist through the Department of Behavioral Health and Mental Retardation Services preferred. Valid TN driver’s license and MVR that complies with facility policy.
