Type of Position:
Full Time – 40 Hours per Week
Hourly Rate:
$19.88 with Uncapped Commission
Hours:
9:00am-6:00pm with a rotating Saturday of 8:00am-5:00pm (Every 4-6th Saturday)
Sign on Bonus:
$2,500
Consumer Sales Representative – Retail The Consumer Sales Representative – Retail is a key contributor in TDS’s overall consumer strategy to grow, delight and retain our customers. Our motto is to grow revenue and achieve sales goals by providing exceptional customer service. The Consumer Sales Representative – Retail handles customers that walk‑in to our Retail stores as well as inbound customer calls when no customers are in the office. This position is the primary point of contact for consumer customers inquiring about products and services.
Responsibilities
Deliver sales and retention results through providing exceptional customer service: exceed or meet monthly sales goals of strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and Internet Content Product Offerings through face‑to‑face and over the phone interactions.
Resell customers on the benefits of having TDS service, protecting existing revenue.
Handle billing inquiries, seasonal service requests, toll inquiries, and other miscellaneous inquiries while consulting with customers on technology needs.
Follow cash management procedures to ensure accuracy in all cash and payment handling.
Create and complete Triage tickets to resolve construction‑related issues in specific markets.
Stay current with promotions, products, and technology necessary to exceed sales and retention goals.
Perform retail office responsibilities such as restocking supplies, unlocking and locking office, maintaining office cleanliness, and coordinating use of space.
Participate in community events and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
1+ year’s experience in a sales or customer service role.
2+ years computer experience (including order applications, Microsoft Outlook, Word, or Excel).
Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines and meet business needs.
Other Qualifications
6+ months experience in a fast‑paced environment managing multiple tasks and detailed data.
Ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills in reselling service to customers requesting disconnection.
Handle a high volume of phone calls in a structured, contact‑center environment.
Understanding of the telecommunication industry and its products and services.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Problem‑solving skills.
Successful completion of classroom training required.
Demonstrated success in a competitive sales environment.
Ability to work overtime with advance notice.
Shift work ending at 8:00 p.m. CST with potential Saturday rotation.
Experience with escalated customer issues and problem resolution both over the phone and face‑to‑face.
