Position Description Job Summary: The Flood Control District has the mission to reduce the risk of flooding in Harris County, the third most populated county in the United States, with a population in excess of 4.7 million, including the City of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. The Flood Control District has jurisdiction over the primary stormwater facilities in the county, which consist of approximately 1,500 channels totaling nearly 2,500 miles in length, as well as more than 60 regional stormwater detention basins, totaling more than 10,000 acres, and several wetlands mitigation banks, including Greens Bayou. The Harris County Flood Control District is seeking qualified candidates for the Construction Coordinator position, who will be responsible for assisting the Fast Action Service Team Department (FAST) with a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficiency within the Department. Essential Functions & Duties: Project Setup & Closeout * Set up new projects in the FAST filing system as they are received from Property Management and create new projects in District applications as they are received from various sources. * Close out projects in the FAST filing system and District applications as they are completed. Service Requests & Regulatory Submissions * Submit requests in the Texas811 GeoCall website for required projects. * Submit Environmental Service Requests for required projects. * Submit Turf Establishment Service Requests for required projects. Documentation & Records Management * Scan various documents to be filed in project folders and purchase order folders for payment processing. * Review all Daily Work Reports for accuracy. * Update records in District software applications as necessary. Financial & Purchasing Support * Enter payments and monitor purchase orders. * Order office supplies as needed. Asset & Equipment Management * Oversee Asset Inventory and schedule periodic Inventory Audits for vehicles and the shop. * Track and schedule Preventive Maintenance and State Inspections for District vehicles, equipment, and trailers. Requirements Education and Experience: * Requires a high school graduate, preferably an associate's or college degree. * Requires a minimum of two years of experience in business administration, process analysis, or production in a field maintenance environment.
