About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be the senior manager responsible for establishing and maintaining loan policies, overseeing the credit and loan closing processes, and providing guidance to lenders. This role involves chairing the Credit Risk Management Committee, the Watch List Committee, and approving major credit exposures. The Chief Credit Officer will also be involved in managing the day-to-day activities of the Credit Department, including credit approval, and ensuring adherence to credit policies and regulatory standards.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in credit-related positions within community or large banks or financial services firms. Extensive experience in approving various types of commercial loans, including real estate, C&I, SBA, and construction financing, is essential. The role requires a candidate with substantial delegated credit authority, prior experience in regulatory examinations, and a strong background in underwriting and structuring complex commercial banking transactions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage a diverse team, train junior underwriters, and work effectively with both internal and external contacts to manage credit exposure.
