About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be the senior manager responsible for maintaining and setting loan policy, managing the credit and loan closing processes, and providing oversight of the credit granting process. This role involves approving major credit exposures, managing the day-to-day credit department and loan closing process, and setting credit standards for lending. The Chief Credit Officer will also be involved in regulatory audits, and stress test understanding, and will be expected to have substantial delegated credit authority.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in credit-related positions within community or large banks or financial services firms. Extensive experience in approving commercial real estate, C&I lending, SBA lending, and construction financing is essential. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in regulatory examinations, policy and procedure preparation, risk management, and complete credit processes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage a team with a broad range of experience and technical skills and be adept at training junior underwriters. Additionally, the Chief Credit Officer should be capable of working with various internal and external contacts to manage credit exposure effectively.
