A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists to join their team in the Bronx, NY. This contract opportunity offers the potential for conversion to direct hire. The pharmacy focuses on rare and orphan drugs, serving patients with complex treatment needs. The role requires specialized pharmacy expertise, strong clinical knowledge, and excellent communication skills to provide high-touch support to patients and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities: Manage and dispense rare/orphan specialty medications accurately and efficiently. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approval, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs. Navigate complex insurance and grant processes to ensure access to expensive specialty therapies. Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations. Provide clinical support and counsel for patients with rare diseases. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Active pharmacy license in Arizona, clear and in good standing. Proven experience working exclusively in a specialty pharmacy setting; retail experience alone is not sufficient. Familiarity with specialty pharmacy workflows, including mail order and retail specialty. Strong clinical knowledge of rare disease states and specialty medications. Excellent communication skills for high-touch interaction with patients and providers. Ability to assist with coordinating payment programs, rebates, grants, and drug access initiatives. One specialty pharmacy reference required.
