Summary The Retail Channel Specialist supports marketing and retail operations by researching market conditions at the local, regional, and national level to determine potential sales opportunities. This role focuses on analyzing competitive data, supporting retail execution, and ensuring operational processes and tools function effectively across retail channels—preferably within a storefront retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Forecast and track marketing and sales trends through data analysis
Conduct research on consumer opinions and marketing strategies in collaboration with marketing professionals and cross‑functional partners
Develop and evaluate data collection methods such as surveys, opinion polls, and questionnaires
Gather and analyze competitive data related to pricing, sales performance, and marketing/distribution methods
Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communication programs
Provide operational support for retail accounts internally and with customers
Partner closely with Retail Channel Operations and cross‑functional teams to ensure tools, resources, and processes function correctly
Support execution and analysis of key strategic retail initiatives
Work directly with corporate retail account teams locally and nationally to establish operational processes and measure execution success
Assess operational market opportunities across channels, geographies, and service levels to improve sales performance and inform go‑to‑market strategies
Develop repeatable, stable, and intuitive processes that enable retail teams to focus on serving customers
Clearly communicate complex and rapidly changing information to stakeholders in a concise, easy‑to‑understand manner
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing demands
Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting, merchandising, and selling products or services
Understanding of media production, communication, and content dissemination techniques
Proven ability to simplify complex ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing or related field preferred)
2–4 Years Of Related Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree plus an additional 3 years of relevant retail experience preferred
Retail Storefront Experience Strongly Preferred
Demonstrated experience supporting multiple accounts and retail operations
Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills and ability to lead project work within large, dynamic teams
Experience developing operational processes and performance measurements
Understanding of retail development, store systems, and in‑store equipment highly desired
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, consumer‑driven environment
Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
