Since this position requires close interaction, you will have the opportunity to build strong patient relationships and enhance their overall experience. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. By showing compassion and patience, you can assist patients in regaining the drive they need to work hard and heal./ppA caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 8:00 AM5:00 PM, with 12 Saturdays, six Sundays, and one annual holiday requirements./ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:/pulliEvaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs./liliPerform initial and ongoing assessments./liliEstablish, revise, and evaluate plans of care./liliPerform physical therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patients age and condition./liliSupervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support caregivers./liliMaintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times regarding patient condition and the effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions./liliParticipate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessments of assigned patients./li/ulpMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliBachelors Degree or certificate/liliGraduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association/liliCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)/liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross/liliValid Drivers License and proof of $100,000/$300,000 automobile insurance coverage/li/ulpPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliOne year of clinical experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist in an acute, rehab or skilled nursing setting/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliAbility to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling./liliAbility to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor./liliAbility to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program./liliSensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse./liliVisual acuity to observe patients gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors./liliAbility to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families./liliAbility to hear at a conversational level to understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment./li/ulpPersonal Protective Equipment:/pulliFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required./li/ulpThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
