On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation./ppAs an Occupational Therapist supporting the Hand Surgery specialty for ISI, you will provide comprehensive services to assist patients in regaining their capacity to perform daily activities. In this role, you will evaluate and treat individuals with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits that impact their ability to successfully carry out independent living skills. You will focus on optimizing treatment outcomes and assisting patients in relearning the skills necessary to achieve independence, productivity and a high quality of life./ppA caregiver in this role works a day/evening rotation from 7:30 a.m.
6:30 p.m. This shared position requires flexibility in work location to accommodate physician schedules, including post-operative care, with assignments determined by patient volumes and physician availability. Candidates must be available for a minimum of two evenings per week to provide coverage for hand therapy post-operative clinics./ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:/pulliEvaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills./liliAssess patients ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills./liliDesign the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment./liliImplement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities./liliDocument subjective and objective findings of patient progress./liliMonitor and modify the plan of care as needed./liliSeek consultation as necessary./liliEducate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits./liliPlan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting./liliProvide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs./liliOversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and OT practice standards./li/ulpMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliBachelors Degree/liliGraduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association/liliCurrent Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)/liliBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross/li/ulpPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliExperience in a clinical area/liliCertified Hand Therapist or working towards certification/liliHand therapy and custom splinting experience/liliSplinting experience/liliAbility to work closely with hand surgeons/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliAbility to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling./liliAbility to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor./liliAbility to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program./liliSensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse./liliVisual acuity to observe patients gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors./liliAbility to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families./liliAbility to hear at a conversational level to understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment./li/ulpPersonal Protective Equipment:/pulliFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required./li/ulpPay Range/ppMinimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00/ppMaximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50/ppThe pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
