As a Physical Therapy Assistant supporting the East 1 team, you will be providing comfort and care to patients living in and around Mentor, Willoughby Hills, Willoughby, East Cleveland, Lyndhurst, Highland Heights, South Euclid, Mayfield and occasionally Painesville. Through your role, you will support the PTA mission by applying a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of functional limitations, impairments and disorders. This role is critical in ensuring patients feel at their best, empowering them to take control of their treatment. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in their lives, all while gaining extensive hands-on experience and finding your place within an innovative healthcare system./ppA caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm including 12 Saturdays and 1 holiday weekend./ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:/pulliAdminister patient centered Physical Therapy treatment incorporating evidence-based practice and skilled techniques to achieve optimal functional outcomes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist./liliObserve, communicate and document patient progress and response to treatment./liliPlan, organize and implement individualized therapeutic programs with patient/family, incorporating evidence-based practice./liliProvide education on Physical Therapy related subjects to patients, clients, caregivers, hospital personnel and the community./liliAct as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students./liliAct as a resource for volunteers and observers./li/ulpMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliAssociates Degree or certificate/liliGraduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association/liliCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)/liliBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross/liliValid Drivers License (VDL) with proof of $100,000/$300,000 coverage insurance coverage for Homecare/li/ulpPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliExperience in a clinical area/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliAbility to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling./liliAbility to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor./liliAbility to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program./liliSensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse./liliVisual acuity to observe patients gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors./liliAbility to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families./liliAbility to hear at a conversational level to understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment./li/ulpPersonal Protective Equipment:/pulliFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required./li/ulpKeywords: part time, PTA, physical therapy assistant, rehab tech, rehab assistant/p/div
