The primary functions of the position are to clean doorjambs, doorsills, machine faces, frames, faceplate, and oven door seals on the battery ovens./ph3Summary Of Responsibilities/h3ulliPerform simple routine work of cleaning doorjambs, doorsills, machine faces and frame, faceplate between will and bench on the pusher and coke side of the battery./liliPerform simple routine work, dampering and removing lids, sweeping, and sealing lids./liliAssist Pusher Machine Operator in keeping oven doors clean and sealed./liliAssist Door Machine Operator, in keeping door machine clean./liliAssist Larry Car Operator in pouring coal./liliResponsible for some hazardous waste management functions. Perform physical waste activities (e.g. moving and labeling containers, collecting samples, inspection etc.)/liliGenerate or contact hazardous waste as part of production/maintenance process. May utilize accumulation container(s)./liliComply with all Safety, Health and Environmental Regulations, Policies and Procedures./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required and must be at least 18 years of age./liliCandidates must be able to successfully pass the Utility Persons Services Assessment test./liliMust be able to perform simple tasks involving physical labor using simple hand tools including shovel, broom and jamb bar, etc. and the ability to lift in excess of 25 lbs./liliAbility to read, understand and follow safety information, operating instructions, and procedure manuals./liliMust be able to wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator equipment, boots with metatarsal protection, etc.)/liliMust be able to work at heights, work in extreme heat and cold, and around hazardous chemicals./liliMust be able to work overtime and a rotating shift that shall include weekends and holidays, as well as climb and or walk on uneven surfaces./li/ulpCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
