Our employees are not only part of history, theyre making history./ppOur Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 3 to join our operations team, located in Dayton, OH, working on assembly structures, laminates and composite bonding processes./ppPosition Requirements:/ppThis position requires at least four years of experience working on aircraft, aerospace structures or composites with a complete understanding of the detailed aspects of the job with practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. The candidate will receive limited supervision with detailed instructions for routine work, new activities or special assignments. May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower-level employees./ppWhat youll get to do:/pulliFabricate composite components and/or tools, which may include, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, composite trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and composite bonding processes/liliPerforming part-fitting operations such as filing, burring, crimping, trimming, gromet installation, drilling, countersinking and reaming./liliAligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures/liliMeasuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions./liliModifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate engineering changes to structure./liliMonitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures./liliTroubleshoot and solve unique problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians./liliOperate autoclave and curing ovens to complete bonding cycles/liliUse of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor./liliRecommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness./li/ulpBasic Qualifications:/pulliHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 4-years of relatable aircraft experience in manufacturing/production (or similar)/liliPerform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, overhead work, climbing up and down ladders, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, carrying tools, testing for and wearing a respirator./liliAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access required/liliAbility to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc./liliAbility to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends/li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliActive DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years with the ability to obtain program access./liliAP License/liliExperience with composite manufacturing, aircraft fabrication, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment/liliExperience with high temperature composite materials including Polyimide./liliExperience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding and bagging/liliDemonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools/liliAbility to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures/li/ulpPrimary Level Salary Range: $25.91 - $43.22/ppThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
