Under minimal supervision, provide journeyman-level support to accomplish maintenance, repair and overhaul of shipboard propulsion and power generation gas turbine engines and associated support equipment./ppDuties and responsibilities:/pulliJob functions include: disassemble, inspect, repair, overhaul, reassemble, and test the following equipment:/liliGeneral Electric (GE) LM2500 and LM2500 Plus/liliRolls Royce 501-K17, 501-K34, KB5 and 250 (RIMSS)/liliRolls Royce MT30/liliHoneywell TF-40B/liliSun Strand T-62/liliSolar Saturn/liliUtilizes the following shop equipment to accomplish requirements: precision measuring equipment, 55-ton hydraulic press, arbor press, drill press, bench grinder, precision grinders, parts sandblasting machine, and portable electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools./liliPerforms ship-checks, validates and/or diagnose equipment condition and define required corrective actions./liliAssesses feasibility of accomplishment of work by I-level Production shops. If job is/liliCompletes assigned work packages in a timely manner, meeting ships and Production Departments scheduled goals and timelines/deadlines./liliAttends and participates in production meetings as required providing the status of gas turbine maintenance actions./liliActs professional in all communications and dealings, including with all internal and external customers in the execution of assigned gas turbine maintenance duties./li/ulpRequired qualifications:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliMinimum 4 years work related experience/liliMinimum 6 years specialized experience assessing and executing marine gas turbine repair requirements/liliUnderstanding of modifying and repairing a variety of shipboard systems, equipment and their components, associated marine gas turbine operations./liliEffective oral and written communication/liliSound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts, if appropriate/liliBasic computer operations/liliAbility to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance/li/ulpPreferred qualifications:/pulliPrior satisfactory completion of Navy gas turbine schools./liliCurrent MGTI credentials/liliUnderstand drawings, technical manuals, and related data resources, including Naval Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR), Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS)/liliKnowledgeable in Navy QA and Planning procedures/liliKnowledgeable in Navy quality assurance practices and JFMM chapters relating to gas turbine maintenance/li/ulpPay range: The pay range for this role is $26.26 to $32.53 hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role.
