Ambassador Position at North Mississippi Health Services
The Ambassador at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for managing and optimizing patient and visitor transport, including wheelchairs, stretchers, and other means of transport. This role collaborates with the Shift Supervisor and serves a vital patient-facing role, utilizing strong communication and organization skills to engage with a diverse array of people, document and track all requests for transport service, and monitor transport equipment to ensure smooth and timely transportation. Transportation Management: Receives and transports patients/visitors in a safe and timely manner to their designated site. Seeks opportunities to reduce waste and streamline processes to aid in safe and timely movement of patients within the organization. Adheres to all policies and procedures for patient transport and uses proper body mechanics during transport. Possesses working knowledge of TeleTracking, paging system, phone system and logging in and out of patient transport assignments. Patient Care: Assess the transportation needs of the patient. Performs duties assigned to meet personal needs and comfort of patients. Assist with the transport of patients requiring oxygen and IV therapy. Ensure the safe and proper handling of oxygen tanks and IV equipment during transport. Monitor patients' conditions during transport and report any changes to the nursing staff. Provide comfort and reassurance to patients during transport. Documentation: Documents all requests for transport service in order to provide an accurate and timely tracking system. Possesses knowledge of TeleTracking, SCM and Wellsoft. Maintenance: Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Required Other (Experience) 1-2 years documented proficiency in public relations. Required Other (Experience) 3-4 years in a public relations capacity with successful demonstrated skills in technical, oral, and written communications. Required Licenses and Certifications: Work Experience: Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Must be able to recognize changes or abnormalities in patient condition and report same. Must have the ability to prioritize, assist, and perform numerous transport functions. Must recognize patients in need of assistance and activate appropriate resources when needed. Must communicate with a diverse group of people. Must project a professional and personable image to patients, family members, staff, and other customers.
