Primary responsibilities include: Operating a commercial tractor-trailer safely over long distances, often across multiple states. Transporting freight according to assigned routes and delivery schedules. Conducting pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure safe operation. Maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, Hours-of-Service (HOS) requirements, and company policies. Planning routes efficiently, considering weather conditions, traffic patterns, road restrictions, and delivery priorities. Communicating with dispatch regarding load status, delays, breakdowns, or routing issues. Operating electronic logging devices (ELDs) and maintaining accurate driving, mileage, and fuel records. Performing minor maintenance tasks, fueling the truck, and reporting mechanical issues promptly. Ensuring accurate completion of pickup and delivery documentation, including BOLs, receipts, and signatures. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the truck. Providing professional customer service at all pickup and delivery locations. Additional duties (as needed) include: Tracking trip expenses, submitting required paperwork, and maintaining compliance with company reporting procedures. Following all safety protocols and participating in safety meetings or training. Representing the company professionally on the road and at customer locations. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
