Evansville Country Club has an opening for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Evansville Country Club is an 18‑hole family‑oriented country club located in southern Indiana and founded in 1900. We have around 400 golfing members who are extremely supportive of our agronomy department and continually invest in the golf course and its staff. The club has a full‑time crew of 12 while expanding to 25 during the peak golfing season. The Assistant at ECC will be trained to understand the responsibilities of being a top performing Golf Course Superintendent. The candidate will be joining a hard‑working and veteran maintenance team. The course has zoysiagrass tees and fairways. Our putting surfaces are USGA spec consisting of “Pure Distinction” creeping bentgrass. δη. Our course underwent a massive renovation in 2022 consisting of 13 new green complexes, 5 new জীবনಗಳನ್ನು, a new driving range, new tennis and pickleball courts, as well as a short game practice area. The course reopened in the spring of 2023. The irrigation system is a Toro system with Lynx central controls which was also partially upgraded in the renovation. ECC is a great place for a turf professional wanting to advance their career in an environment that promotes development and leadership while maintaining a golf course at a high level through strong agronomy practices.

Job Duties

Daily Course Task planning with Superintendent.

Application of fertilizers and plant protectants to all golf course surfaces, flowerbeds and club grounds.

Assist with in‑house construction work.

Irrigation Repair and troubleshooting.

Assist in full greenhouse operation.

Manage crew when Superintendent is absent.

Effectively lead golf course projects.

Work closely with superintendent and staff on water management including hand watering, irrigation setup, monitoring pumps, etc.

Perform daily mowing practices.

Ability to communicate and multitask effectively.

Ensure staff safety.

Effectively monitor turf conditions across the entire golf course.

Communicate clearly with superintendent and pro shop staff.

Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and some holidays.

This position requires a peak season work week of 50+ hours while settling back to 43 hours during the winter months. The candidate will MAR help every other weekend year‑round. We work.im hard and service the members at a top level while considering and working around personal life. The candidate will be 朝 involved with club communications, green committee meetings and staff meetings.
