REQ-39865NewsNation seeks a Senior Producer to join the show team for its weekend morning show. The senior producer will play a key role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the program. Candidates should have strong editorial judgement, be comfortable crafting and producing segments and have considerable experience calling the shots in a control room.
The position is based at the network's studios in New York. This is a hybrid position, that includes in-office work on the weekend.
There are early morning / overnight hours required. Duties & Responsibilities:Assists executive producer and anchor in setting show's editorial directionPitches story ideas and makes guest booking suggestionsHelp build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programmingCoordinates the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors and other staffProduces segments as neededCopy edits scripts and contentServes as a senior leader in the control roomFills in as line producer as neededManage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teamsHelps implement training and best practices for show teamProvides ongoing mentoring and support to members of the show teamActs as Executive Producer in his/her absencePerforms special projects and other duties as assigned by network management **Requirements & Skills:**5-8 or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital), that includes segment and line producingMust be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of peopleMust be detail-orientedMust have strong organizational skillsMust have excellent writing and copy-editing skillsMust have considerable line producing experienceSegment producing and package producing experience are also helpfulMust be able to handle high pressure and high intensity situations with poise and maturityMust be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays**Salary Range**: $90,000 - $115,000**Benefits**: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
