Leadership, teamwork, and decision‑making skills
Minimum Requirements Education:
Associate degree flagship field in plant science, turf management, or a related discipline from a college or university.
Experience:
One year as a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent.
Substitution Options:
None for experience.
Certificate/Substitution:
Three years as a superintendent or assistant superintendent plus a Certificate of Turfgrass Management can substitute for the required education.
Special Requirements Requires and must maintain a valid driver’s license; must obtain a Kentucky pesticide applicator license within six months of employment. The N‑18 pesticide license is required, obtainable by passing the Kentucky Department of Agriculture test. All움 required licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
Working Conditions Work is performed outdoors in varied climatic conditions and involves exposure to insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.
Probationary Period Initial and promotional probationary period of nine months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
