What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Verify patient prescription benefits, including medical and pharmacy coverage, to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
Investigate authorization requirements for medications and ancillary supplies, collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies
Determine patient eligibility for copay card assistance programs and facilitate enrollment as appropriate
Perform all Benefit Investigation functions, providing thorough, accurate, and timely responses to requests
Maintain knowledge of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, Roman numerals, and brand/generic names of medications
What is Required (Qualifications)
High School Diploma or GED, or licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or previous experience in pharmacy
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
Knowledge of pharmacy or healthcare-related practices
Understanding of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes and brand/generic names of medications
Basic math and analytical skills, along with intermediate typing/keyboard skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment
Familiarity with insurance authorization processes
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
