Responsibilities
Diagnose, test, repair and adjust AC and DC motors and drive systems ranging from fractional to hundreds of horsepower, including pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems, control loops and PID loops (4‑20 mA), industrial controllers, and PLCs.
Perform minor installation and modification of control and power wiring up to 480 V AC, complying with NEC, OSHA, intrinsically safe and explosion‑proof wiring standards.
Read, understand and modify AC and DC elementary drawings and wiring diagrams per 3M practices.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication of equipment and machinery following PM route sheets or equipment manuals.
Use metal‑joining techniques (arc, acetylene welding, brazing, soldering) and general fabrication skills; operate shop equipment (hand tools, electric & air‑powered tools, carpentry tools, machine tools).
Your Skills and Expertise Required
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government or military environment, or a technical degree in an engineering‑related field (e.g., Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation).
Desired
Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance and Automation.
Experience working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven team with strong safety practices, including Lock Out/Tag Out, NFPA 70E Arc‑Flash Safety.
Knowledge of PLC and automated manufacturing equipment.
Ability to use electrical and tolerance measuring devices and to read and follow mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
