Community Relations Manager (21-25 hrs. / week)
Circle of Concern (Circle) is a food pantry and social services agency serving 700 – 800 households monthly throughout the footprint of the Parkway, Rockwood, Kirkwood and Valley Park School districts, as well as the Fenton and High Ridge communities. We offer wholesome foods and comprehensive programming. Through community partnerships and a best practice service model, we help families move from crisis to stability.
Circle is staffed by a small professional team and a cadre of dedicated volunteers. We welcome people of all backgrounds. Position Summary The Community Relations Manager (21 – 25 hrs. / week) is an organized and adept communicator, writer, story-teller and project manager who generates broad enthusiasm and support for Circle’s mission. This professional is a team player who possesses exceptional organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
Coordinate external communications in support of Circle’s mission. Manage agency identity, messaging and logo identity across agency publications, printed materials (newsletter, brochures, annual report, etc.), social media and website.
Write and edit content for, and ensure the timely production of, the agency’s newsletter, E-News and annual report; update and freshen Circle’s brochures and website as needed.
Write and coordinate monthly social media content that engages donors, volunteers, sponsors, community partners and potential clients.
With Director of Development, and Circle’s contracted Marketing consultant ensure:
timely scheduling / posting of social media content
an effective advertising schedule that raises awareness of Circle’s programs and garners support for Circle’s development efforts
engagement with area media
the use of approved crisis media measures
With Program Director, coordinate and write content for periodic client emails.
Be comfortable telling Circle’s story and conducting tours of our building; and educating members of our community about Circle’s mission. Periodically represent Circle in the community (at a fundraiser, mission fair, etc.).
Responsibilities (Other)
On occasion, support programs and events, helping in our client-choice pantry, assisting at a donor event, food drive, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or similar profession
2 – 5 years professional experience in a communications, marketing or public relations role
Excellent computer skills — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva
Writing samples required
Salary $25 – $30/ hr.
