PURPOSE:

The Planned Giving Manager develops and nurtures relationships with World Renew’s legacy giving society members, known as Joseph Stewards, to deepen engagement and increase planned giving support. This role builds and manages a robust pipeline of planned giving prospects by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors, while providing thoughtful stewardship and education around legacy and estate gifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planned Giving & Donor Portfolio Management

Develop and implement targeted cultivation and stewardship strategies to maintain and grow legacy and planned giving support across all donor levels.

Manage and steward an assigned portfolio of Joseph Stewards and planned giving prospects, ensuring consistent, personalized communication and engagement.

Research, identify, and qualify prospective donors for legacy and planned gift opportunities.

Establish financial goals and strategic plans for planned giving in consultation with the Donor Relations Director and CORE team.

Accurately record donor interactions, plans, and commitments in the CRM system (Salesforce preferred).

Program Promotion and Education

Promote the Joseph Stewards program through targeted campaigns, newsletters, donor stories, events, and webinars to celebrate existing members and encourage new commitments.

Develop and maintain educational resources (brochures, web pages, FAQs, and presentations) that explain the benefits of legacy giving in clear, inspiring language.

Segment donors based on interests and communication preferences to provide tailored updates, reports, and ministry impact communications.

Collaboration & Gift Facilitation

Foster strong relationships with legacy giving society members through personalized outreach and engagement activities.

Collaborate with estate planning partners such as Barnabas Foundation (U.S.) and Christian Stewardship Services (Canada) to promote and facilitate planned giving opportunities.

Work with donors, family members, attorneys, and other stakeholders to support the smooth processing and administration of estate and legacy gifts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Proven experience building donor relationships and securing legacy or planned gifts.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED

Familiarity with the Reformed faith and tradition as practiced by the CRCNA.

Ability to articulate a biblical worldview and explain how World Renew’s work reflects this calling.

Demonstrated success in building and maintaining church or donor relationships within a faith-based nonprofit or ministry setting.

Demonstrated commitment to fostering a work environment that values diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice.

Self‑directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a multi‑task environment.

Ability to plan strategically, manage multiple relationships, and prioritize workload independently.

Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft 365 or similar collaboration tools.

High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information.

Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field required.

Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or gift planning.

Experience working with planned or legacy giving programs preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluency in English with strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate theological and humanitarian concepts clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily computer‑based work with extended periods of sitting.

Occasional meetings in the United States and Canada; limited travel outside North America may be required.
