Bush-Building 11, Central Admin Office, Elmira, NY Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7.5‑hour day, 12‑month position Responsibilities: Supervises work of assistants engaged in clerical and accounting activities Compiles data for, and prepares and analyzes complex financial and statistical records and reports Codes a variety of reports in accordance with prescribed procedures Interprets changes in rules and procedures to subordinates Checks account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy and completeness Operates a personal computer, copier, computing, calculating, and other office equipment Writes correspondence Complete the auditing of bills and the preparation of vouchers May prepare financial statements and reports May set up ledger accounts of funds Prepares routine reports of information for budget planning and communications Performs other duties as assigned Please complete your file by submitting the following information: Employment application Letter of interest Detailed résumé College undergraduate and graduate transcripts conferring degree If no college education, furnish a copy of high school diploma or GED One to three current, dated and signed letters of professional reference (must be less than 1 yr. old) The Greater Southern Tier BOCES does not discriminate in employment or in the education programs and activities which it operates on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religion, race, color, national origin or disability in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or § 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and New York State Human Rights Law. The selected candidate must be among the top three of the Principal Account Clerk Civil Service Certificate of Eligibles List, if not currently holding the title. Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, including twelve (12) credit hours in accounting or bookkeeping and one (1) year of experience performing financial account and record keeping

OR Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, including completion of twelve (12) credit hours in accounting or bookkeeping and three (3) years’ experience performing financial account and record keeping

OR Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years’ experience performing financial accounting and record keeping. Salary: Per Support Staff Association contract. Plus a comprehensive benefits package.
