Business Development Manager – Sales ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services. We directly self‑perform environmental remediation and geotechnical construction work using in‑house personnel and equipment. Our roster includes seasoned project managers, field engineers, regulatory professionals, safety and quality managers, equipment operators, mechanics, and technicians. Established in 1991, ENTACT has been consistently named to ENR’s “Top 200 Environmental Firms”, has received numerous National Safety Council awards, and has safely completed over 3,000 projects across the United States.

Position Summary The Business Development Manager is motivated to build a career and help expand ENTACT’s market share for environmental remediation and geotechnical construction services. The associate will identify key clients and decision makers, evaluate business opportunities, qualify and vet prospects, and participate in risk‑evaluation and go/no‑go decision making. They will also develop strategic teaming partnerships and joint ventures where applicable. The role is suited to a strategic, technically astute, self‑motivated leader with knowledge of core services, markets, and the competitive landscape to increase revenue and market share.

Essential Job Functions

Research target demographics, economic trends, customer needs and interests to create business‑development strategies.

Lead efforts to expand lead generation through cold calling, business‑to‑business selling and other prospecting methods.

Build relationships with existing customers, investors, and partners through consistent follow‑up and reliable communication.

Present sales pitches, service reports and data to prospects, promoting the company brand and mission.

Collaborate with other departments to identify service improvements that enhance performance and attractiveness.

Maintain high activity volume – prospecting emails, calls, meetings, presentations and webinars.

Advance a pipeline of leads over an extended, multi‑year sales cycle via research and follow‑up.

Travel as required for success.

Skills and Qualifications

Understanding of environmental remediation, geotechnical construction, sediment remediation and related services.

Ability to develop and manage relationships with key decision makers.

Intimate knowledge of market opportunities with ability to qualify, vet and win key project pursuits aligned with company growth strategy.

Excellent communication and listening skills, effective with senior management, coworkers, clients, vendors and stakeholders.

Strong written and oral presentation skills.

Strong ethical judgment, integrity and sound decision‑making.

Attention to detail and time‑conscious work habits.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Negotiation and creative problem‑solving skills.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands

Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and vendors, both individually and in front of a group.

Use reasoning and decision‑making skills.

Interpret reports, memos and documents to conduct business.

Stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard.

Operate standard office equipment (computer, calculator, copier, fax).

Understand and follow written or oral instructions.

Travel by motor vehicle and on air, car, train or bus as required.

Work Environment The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
