Entry‑Level Assistant Golf Professional
who is passionate about the game and eager to grow within the golf industry.
Position Summary The Assistant Golf Professional will assist in all aspects of golf operations, with an emphasis on member service, tournament administration, instruction, and professional development. This position is ideal for a
PGA Associate
or an individual actively pursuing PGA Membership.
Experience Required
PGA Associate status or eligibility with a clear desire to pursue PGA Membership.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, POS, and Tee Time systems.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Previous private club or golf operations experience preferred.
Experience with Golf Genius is desired.
Knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide assistance to the Head Golf Professional in all facets of the daily golf operation.
Deliver outstanding service to members and guests in a private club setting.
Assist with daily golf shop operations, including tee sheet management, merchandising, and POS transactions.
Coordinate and execute club tournaments, leagues, and member events as assigned.
Assist with player development programs, and junior golf initiatives.
Provide individual and group instruction as assigned – must have passed PAT to provide private instruction.
Course play – oversee the reservation system, starting, and monitoring pace of play while enforcing the established rules and regulations of the course.
Assist with inventory control and merchandising displays.
Open and close the golf shop as scheduled.
Work collaboratively with outside operations and course maintenance staff.
Maintain PGA membership in good standing.
Play golf with a variety of members in competitive and non‑competitive situations.
Maintain continued education credits and pursue professional growth through sectional and national opportunities.
Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.
Compensation & Benefits
100% of private lesson income (estimated $500 – $2,000 in first year based on engagement).
Club repair (estimated $200 – $1,000 per year).
PGA dues paid by club.
Assistance with continuing education and encouragement in professional growth and developmental programs.
Insurance and dental plan available after 60 days of employment.
GAP insurance.
Life Insurance – $50K.
401K available after one year of employment.
10 days of PTO after 6 months of employment (5 sick days & 5 vacation days).
Floating Holiday.
Uniforms.
