Ad Sales Research Intern

The Ad Sales Research Intern will support the Zynga Ads Direct Sales team by analyzing audience data and refreshing advertiser-facing research stories using the latest 2026 insights. You'll join a collaborative, data-driven team that sits at the intersection of gaming, advertising, and consumer insights. Your work will directly influence how leading brands understand and reach Zynga's highly engaged mobile gamers.

You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by modernizing how Zynga tells its audience story to advertisers. You'll work hands-on with industry-standard research tools like comScore, apply AI-assisted analysis to accelerate insight discovery, and contribute directly to sales materials used by one of the world's largest mobile gaming companies. You'll be working with iconic game franchises and IP, helping translate gamer behavior into meaningful insights for top brands, all while building practical skills in data analysis, storytelling, and presentation.

This role offers meaningful independence once training is complete, with guidance and feedback from experienced research leaders.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze monthly audience data to identify trends, shifts, and standout insights across Zynga's mobile gaming audience.
  • Review late-2025 and 2026 data to determine the strongest month(s) for key audience stories.
  • Extract and analyze 810 core data points per audience or category from provided reports.
  • Update and refresh 300+ advertiser-facing research slides with new data and insights.
  • Create clear, visually compelling slides that translate data into easy-to-understand stories for advertisers.
  • Collaborate with the Ad Sales Research team to develop narratives around key audiences such as Gen Z, Millennials, Multicultural audiences, Moms, Parents, and major advertiser categories like Retail, Travel, and Entertainment.

What You Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify patterns in audience behavior.
  • Comfort working with data tables, indexes, and reports.
  • Ability to translate data into clear, concise stories and visuals.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with research tools such as comScore, MRI-Simmons, YouGov, or eMarketer.
  • Interest in digital advertising, mobile apps, or gaming.
  • Experience using AI tools to support data analysis, summarization, or presentation.
  • Basic understanding of advertiser categories like Retail, CPG, Travel, or Entertainment.

The pay range for this position in San Mateo, California at the start of employment is expected to be between $32 and $38 per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
