Overview
We partner with regulated organizations seeking a Director of Financial Risk & Governance to lead and support enterprise risk management, financial governance, and compliance oversight initiatives. This role focuses on strengthening governance frameworks, managing financial risk exposure, and supporting regulatory and audit-driven programs across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial risk and governance initiatives aligned with regulatory and compliance expectations
Develop and maintain risk governance frameworks, policies, and control structures
Partner with Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to assess and mitigate financial risk
Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews related to financial governance
Oversee risk assessments, issue management, and remediation efforts
Provide guidance on risk reporting, governance documentation, and executive-level communications
Monitor regulatory developments impacting financial risk and governance practices
Advise senior stakeholders on emerging financial risk trends and governance considerations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field required
8–12+ years of experience in financial risk management, governance, compliance, or audit roles
Prior experience in a leadership or oversight capacity strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of financial risk frameworks, governance models, and regulatory expectations
Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, or risk committees
Background in financial services, insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Compensation $170,000–$220,000 base salary, depending on experience and market
