Position Summary

The Camp Director directs the execution of all activities and operations related to the Girl Scout Summer Camp Program – including Overnight Camp and Day Camp – at Mah Kah Wee Program Center and Riverpoint Program Center. The Director identifies, directs, and supervises all camp program activities and staff. Responsibilities include development, organization, implementation, and management of the camp program operations, systems, and processes. The Director ensures ongoing staff development and maintains positive parent, public, community and staff relations. Responsibilities

Supervises all seasonal and camp-related program staff, including recruitment, selection, placement, development, and release. Ensures that camp facilities meet established standards before, during, and after camp sessions. Coordinates and works with property staff and Girl Scout Experience team to identify and resolve property issues and needs. Assists with the American Camp Association (ACA) accreditation process by supporting documentation collection, ensuring compliance with ACA standards, and participating in self-assessments, site visits and continuous improvement efforts. Responsible for the development and implementation of pre‑camp trainings. Promotes a positive work environment and high staff morale through communication and development activities. Ensures risk and crisis management plans and emergency procedures are in place, staff is trained, and responds to emergencies and crises as needed. Monitors safety protocols and procedures during all camper and staff activities. Develops and oversees schedules and procedures for camp operations; maintains records and evaluations of staff, programs and related infrastructure. Enforces high safety and health standards, following emergency procedures as outlined. Enforces all camp rules and policies, maintaining professional conduct by staff at all times. Builds relationships with parents, notifying them of camper illness or injury. Manages the camp budget, including equipment, supplies, food and staffing levels. Education and Experience

Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in camp or youth education role. Demonstrated ability to guide and supervise other adults. Willingness to prioritize the needs of girls and camp. Understanding that work hours are irregular and the job is an overnight camp. Sensitivity to camper mental wellness and ability to adapt to changing situations. Strength, endurance and constant supervision capability. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent administrative, organizational, time‑management, communication, public‑speaking and leadership skills. Preferred

Knowledge and experience in Girl Scout programs and operations. Bi‑lingual (Spanish and English). Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Valid driver’s license. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to pass training at camp. Lifeguard certification preferred. Physical Requirements

Ability to give presentations in front of large groups. Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Personal transportation and valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance and meeting council insurance requirements. Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, sun, rain.
