The Elmhurst Park District, established in 1920 and located 16 miles west of Chicago, provides parks, recreation facilities and programs to meet our mission of enriching lives while having fun. We have an exciting seasonal job opportunity as Funseekers Day Camp Director for summer of 2026! Join a team dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for campers ages 6-10. Counselors work with small groups, benefit from low camper-to-staff ratios, and utilize excellent indoor and outdoor spaces to deliver well-planned activities. Counselors will help lead swim days at our outdoor pools twice a week, support weekly field trips, and contribute to a positive camp experience from start to finish. What You'll Do
As Funseekers Day Camp Director, you will plan, coordinate, implement and supervise the daily operations of the Funseekers day camp program, serving ages 6-10. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan, coordinate, implement, supervise and be engaged in all camp activities. Schedule, supervise and evaluate staff. Conduct planning meetings with counselors. Purchase equipment and supplies as needed. Prepare end-of-season recommendations for next year What You'll Bring
High school graduate or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old by May 15, 2026. 1-3 years of relevant experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. When You'll Work
Attend camp training May 26 - May 29 Monday-Friday from June 1 - August 7 AM Shift from 7:15am - 3:00pm PM Shift from 10:30am - 6:15pm You'll work consistently throughout the duration of the summer camp session (10-weeks). What You'll Get
The anticipated starting pay for this position is $19.00/hour. This position falls under Pay Grade B with a pay range of $16.00 - $38.50.
