About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development to lead its major gift strategy and activities. The successful candidate will work in close partnership with academic and advancement leadership to develop and implement strategies that align with the institution's fundraising goals and priorities. This role is pivotal in overseeing budget administration, resource allocation, and staff supervision, and the Executive Director will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects, as well as leading a team of major gift officers. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in major gift fundraising, including the ability to cultivate, solicit, and close significant donations, and must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Applicants for the Executive Director of Development position at the company should have a baccalaureate degree and at least 7 years' of fundraising experience, with a focus on major gift programs. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. The role also requires the candidate to have a history of successful portfolio management and solicitation, and a preference will be given to those with an advanced academic degree, fundraising certification, and experience in an educational fundraising environment.
