The Company is in search of an Executive Director for Gift Planning, a pivotal role in the institution's philanthropic landscape. The successful candidate will be a visionary and empowering leader, responsible for shaping and scaling a high-performing program that secures transformational philanthropic commitments. This role is not only about supporting immediate campaign priorities but also about building legacy commitments for the long-term sustainability and global impact of the institution. The Executive Director will lead a team of technical experts and professionals, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and shared ambition. They will be accountable for designing and leading a strategic, university-wide program that integrates proactive donor engagement with expert stewardship, and will serve as the primary liaison with external partners.
The ideal candidate will be a tenured manager with a proven track record of leading and elevating the performance of seasoned professionals. They must be adept at setting direction, establishing clear expectations, and cultivating an environment where experts can thrive. Creativity in navigating complex giving situations and the ability to offer sound, ethical guidance are imperative. The role requires outstanding analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the emotional intelligence to engage with varied constituencies and partner effectively across the university. The Executive Director will also be responsible for overseeing a complex portfolio of planned giving vehicles and expanding the program to support the institution's global network. Personal involvement in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high-value prospects is also a key aspect of the position.
