Position Profile Weaver is looking for a
Transaction Tax Advisory Senior Manager
to join our growing firm. The team helps private equity, strategic, and founder-owned clients identify potential tax exposures and understand key tax considerations throughout the transaction process, including evaluating structuring alternatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead Weaver's Transaction Tax practice.
The Senior Manager will work closely with various transactions, applying technical tax knowledge in an accessible manner to assist clients in M&A transactions. Responsibilities include managing tax due diligence engagements, leading the M&A tax staff, and coordinating with other Weaver teams to complete diligence reports, evaluate transactions, and finalize engagement deliverables. The role may involve leading research and evaluating various structuring alternatives for transaction-based needs.
Responsibilities
Manage tax due diligence engagements and coordinate with state, local, and international tax teams
Assist clients in evaluating structuring alternatives in M&A transactions
Mentor and lead staff across multiple engagements, providing guidance and development
Foster collaboration with Weaver teams to complete diligence reports and engagement deliverables
Communicate effectively with clients and team members; balance multiple engagements and deadlines
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or LLM in taxation
CPA or CPA candidate or Bar Admission
5+ years of federal and/or state tax experience, ideally with a focus on private equity or private equity-backed clients
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in M&A and private equity transactions
Experience researching and writing technical tax issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
Strong relationship management and practice development skills
Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients
