Senior Accountant - Offering Tremendous Growth Potential!
Career Foundations is recruiting for a Senior Accountant position with a dynamic and growing Software organization in the RTP area. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the accounting function, including but not limited to performing general ledger accounting, bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries, and financial statements. Responsibilities:
Assists with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correcting journal entries for account discrepancies, preparing closing journal entries and account reconciliations, posting accrual entries, and preparing financial statements. Assists with revenue recognition and deferred revenue. Oversees work of 2 Staff Accountants. Performs the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, as needed. Reconciles the bank accounts and enters the cash journals into the General Ledger. Completes other projects as necessary such as assistance implementing ASC 606. Supports internal and external audit and tax engagements (financial statement audits, 401k audits, tax returns, R&D credit studies, etc.). Takes a lead role in various accounting projects including system upgrades, internal control reviews, and other projects as assigned. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Organization and Planning – Plan, organize, schedule, and budget in an efficient, productive manner; focus on key priorities while managing multiple responsibilities. Drive and Discipline – Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on getting the job done accurately and on time. Enthusiasm – Exhibit passion and excitement, and embrace a can-do attitude. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or related field. CPA is required. 6+ years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in accounting or business administration. Experience with NetSuite/Oracle. Strong user of Excel. Compensation:
