is seeking a Community Outreach Consultant to bridge technical partners and local residents for the Elizabeth Brook Restoration Project, an initiative to reduce flooding, improve water quality, restore natural habitats, and expand public green space. What makes this role special: You'll be the trusted voice ensuring community members shape the project's design and outcomes Direct impact on climate resilience and environmental justice in Newport Flexible hybrid work arrangement with meaningful community presence $28-33/hour, 30 hours/week through October 2026 (potential extension to 2027) What we're looking for: Bilingual English/Spanish speaker with community organizing experience Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills Understanding of equity and community self-determination Preference for Newport residents with deep North End community knowledge Your role: Coordinate public workshops, conduct outreach to residents and schools, facilitate community feedback, translate materials, and ensure resident voices are centered in every decision.
