About Livingston First Baptist Church Livingston First Baptist Church is a Christ-centered congregation committed to worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission. We seek a Senior Pastor who will provide spiritual leadership, faithfully preach and teach God’s Word, shepherd our congregation, and lead us forward in unity and purpose.
Livingston First Baptist Church is located in Livingston, Alabama, a close-knit community with a population of approximately 3,100 people. Livingston is situated in the heart of a college town and is home to the University of West Alabama. Our community is blessed with excellent educational opportunities, offering childcare and schooling from infancy through a college degree, all within a one-mile radius of the church.
Our congregation includes approximately 250 members, with an average weekly attendance of 80 in Sunday morning worship services and 60 in Sunday School. We are a multigenerational church with a broad range of families, from young families with children to senior adults. Livingston First Baptist Church is very involved in the local community and is equipped with a 6,000-square-foot Family Life Center, including a commercial-grade kitchen, which supports fellowship, outreach, and ministry activities.

Position Summary The Senior Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of Livingston First Baptist Church, with primary priorities in preaching, pastoral care, and administration. The Senior Pastor is responsible for faithfully proclaiming the Gospel, shepherding the congregation through intentional pastoral care, and providing effective administrative and organizational leadership in partnership with church leadership. This role includes offering clear vision and direction, nurturing spiritual growth, encouraging unity, and guiding the church in fulfilling its mission locally and globally.
Qualifications
A clear calling from God to pastoral ministry.
A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by personal character and spiritual maturity.
Commitment to the authority of Scripture and alignment with Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education from an accredited institution (preferred).
Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 3 years pastoral leadership, preaching, teaching, and shepherding a congregation.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to lead collaboratively, inspire unity, and manage change with wisdom and grace.
A heart for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
