Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Accounting Specialist supports the financial operations of INSight Partners by performing a broad range of insurance agency–specific accounting functions. This role serves as an experienced accounting generalist, working across agency bill, direct bill, commission processing, downloads, and reconciliation activities. This is a regional position supporting multiple INSight Partners locations. Candidates located within reasonable proximity to Lincoln, NE, Omaha, NE, Sioux Falls, SD, Madison, SD, or Watertown, SD are encouraged to apply. Job Responsibilities• Accounting Generalist: Perform accounting functions across agency bill, direct bill, commissions, downloads, and reconciliations. • Download Specialist: Review, process, and reconcile carrier downloads to ensure accuracy within the agency management system. • Agency Bill Processor: Apply agency bill payments, manage receivables, and research discrepancies. • Direct Bill Partner: Support direct bill processing and reconciliation in coordination with carriers and internal teams. • Commission Processor: Post, review, and reconcile commission statements to ensure accurate revenue recognition. • Reconciliation Expert: Reconcile carrier statements, trust accounts, and accounting reports on a regular basis. • Problem Solver: Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. • Documentation Specialist: Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. • Team Collaborator: Partner with accounting leadership, client managers, and service teams to support agency operations. • Flexible Contributor: Assist with special projects or additional accounting duties as assigned. Skills & Strengths• Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Solid understanding of insurance agency accounting practices • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Organized, methodical, and process-oriented approach •Comfortable working with financial data and reconciliations • Effective communication and collaboration skills •Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools • Experience with Applied EPIC or similar agency management systems preferred Position RequirementsPrior experience in insurance agency accounting preferred Experience with agency bill, direct bill, and commission processing Familiarity with carrier downloads and reconciliation workflows Strong proficiency with accounting systems and agency management systems Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information
