Our team is part of the incredible transformation underway at Ford Motor Company and you’ll have a chance to be a part of that movement. We are seeking an investigator with a passion for employee relations and conducting robust investigations in a dynamic environment who appreciates the important role employee relations professionals play in supporting our values and culture and will carry out duties with the highest integrity. This role has required travel to Ford plants located throughout southeast Michigan (four days per week), for various shifts. Travel outside of SE Michigan may occasionally be required to assist other facilities.

Responsibilities

Investigate workplace issues/concerns raised through internal Company channels and some externally filed complaints, including complaints of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of Company policy

Exhibit sound judgment in recommending outcomes for investigations

Partner with Human Resources and/or the Labor Relations team to ensure proper handling and disposition of these cases involving union represented and salaried employees

Work with various Company functions, operating committee members, the Office of the General Counsel, and outside counsel on related issues

Prepare, track, and maintain appropriate investigation documentation

Develop and implement investigation plans

Drive timely closure of open cases/concerns

Manage employee data and statements in a highly confidential manner

Draft concise and clear investigation reports

Partner cross functionally on investigations, discipline, performance management, and other aspects of employee relations

Serve as a strategic partner, promoting ethical and compliant behavior that is aligned with Company policy and government regulations, with fair and equal treatment for the workforce

Coach, counsel, and educate employees on HR policies, performance management, processes, programs, position eliminations, and strategies

Support grievance, arbitration and litigation process from investigations

Analyze case activity and determine trends/recommendations for proactive actions

Foster an effective, inclusive work environment/culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values

Conduct other duties as necessary to align with EEO regulations, and other internal and external policies and directives

Qualifications

You’ll have...

Bachelor's degree

3+ years of HR investigative experience

Even better, you may have...

Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or complex multi facility environment

Prior experience specifically conducting EEO/harassment or other investigations

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and matrixed work environment.

Master's degree in a Human Resource related field

HR generalist and/or Labor specialist experience

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors and integrity combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and oral /written communication skills

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
