
Controller - Commercial Real Estate

A fast-growing, privately held commercial real estate investment firm focused is seeking a hands-on Controller to own accounting, treasury, and financial reporting across a national portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Oversee monthly, quarter, and year-end close and preparation of financial statements
Maintain the general ledger, accounting policies, and internal controls
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR and third-party coordination
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across assets and entities
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and payment processes
Support transaction-related accounting and financial transitions
Coordinate with external service providers, including CPAs and lenders
Track and support compliance, reporting deadlines, and required filings
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in commercial real estate; office/retail experience is preferred
Experience owning or leading the financial close process
Experience managing multiple entities and complex accounting structures
Comfortable working with external partners and service providers
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Hands-on with the ability to work in a small team environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
