What You’ll Do

Responsibility for lifecycle of production related issues and events from the time of occurrence to validation of effectiveness of all preventative and corrective actions

Represent support organizations on the Issues Management Board (IMB)

Support Responsible Managers in drafting of event titles, descriptions, and immediate actions, including facilitating senior management approval

Assisting Responsible Managers in determination of Occurrence Reporting and Processing System (ORPS) category applicability

Participate in fact findings and fact-finding overviews for production related issues and events

Facilitate causal analysis using approved causal analysis methods and tools (e.g why tree, barrier analysis, comparative timeline, Blue Dragon, and Events & Causal Factors (ECF) Charting)

Draft causal analysis reports using approved tools/templates

Review reports for Office of Enforcement and Pantex Field Office (PFO) responses, as necessary

Develop corrective action plans to assure defined actions will prevent and correct the issue

Verify actions are deemed appropriate and effective to prevent recurrence

Facilitate extent of condition reviews

Monitor the status of issues and closure of corrective actions to assure they are being resolved in a timely manner

Evaluate Technical Safety Requirement Control violations and provides recommendations and solutions to prevent recurrence

Identify and solicit input from Subject Matter Experts (SME), when needed

Conduct Human Performance Improvement (HPI) evaluations, as necessary

Conduct walkdowns, as necessary

Serve as Mission Support Onboarding Ambassador and Seating Plan administrator, as necessary

Serve as the Required Reading Coordinator, as necessary

Facilitate, coordinate and assist with Management Assessments and Organizational Surveillances; identify future assessment schedule based on organizational risks, trend identification, and management requests

Assist with closure of issues related to the Operational Awareness Report, as necessary

Assist with the development of metrics that track trends in issues/events and provide recommendations and actions to leadership to prevent recurrence

Assist with testing modifications of the Tools for Opportunities for Improvement through Communication (TOPIC) software, correcting erroneous data and configurations in TOPIC, providing technical support in Pantex Operations for TOPIC, and providing guidance, as needed, regarding Issues Management processes and policies

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with: minimum 2 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.)

Or Master’s Degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. (Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.)

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
