Position Summary Western Carolina University invites applications for a nine‑month, fixed‑term faculty position at the rank of Instructor in Marketing. The successful candidate will join the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, and Hospitality & Tourism Management (MESH) and contribute to the mission of preparing industry‑ready graduates.
Teaching Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver undergraduate courses in marketing, including both online and face‑to‑face formats.
Conduct experiential and applied learning activities that foster student engagement and industry relevance.
Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
Manage a normal teaching load of 24 semester hours per academic year (four classes per semester).
Research and Scholarship
Engage in scholarly research that leads to publication in quality marketing journals.
Pursue all forms of scholarship described by Ernest Boyer, including discovery, integration, application, and teaching and learning.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Marketing program’s research agenda.
Qualifications Minimum
Master’s degree in marketing or a closely related business field from an AACSB/SACSCOC accredited institution.
Preferred
Marketing industry experience.
University level teaching experience.
Benefits and Additional Information Rank of Instructor – Permanent Full‑Time. The normal annual teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year (four classes per semester).
