Key Account Manager – Strategic Channels (Salt Lake City / West Region)

Do you reside in the Salt Lake City area? Pretium Packaging is seeking a commercially strong Key Account Manager to support our Strategic Channels team, managing and growing key distributor relationships across the West Region including Salt Lake City.
This role is not a pure hunting role. It is accountable for owning, stabilizing, and expanding strategic distributor accounts, balancing customer advocacy with internal operational and financial realities.

Role Summary The Key Account Manager will serve as the primary commercial owner for assigned distribution partners. This role is responsible for strategic alignment, pricing and margin management, cross‑functional coordination, and driving profitable growth through Pretium’s distribution channel. Success in this role requires comfort operating in complex, service‑driven environments, managing customer expectations while partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Own and execute strategic account plans for assigned distributor partners, with accountability for long‑term, profitable growth
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, managing pricing, service expectations, and overall commercial performance
Build and maintain multi‑level relationships within distributor organizations, including sales leadership, purchasing, and operations
Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure reliable execution and issue resolution
Navigate pricing negotiations, service challenges, and supply disruptions, protecting both customer trust and margin discipline
Identify and pursue growth opportunities within the distribution channel, including joint selling initiatives and end‑user engagement
Track and report on account performance, pipeline, and progress against strategic objectives
Support special projects and strategic initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications
7+ years of B2B account management or sales experience, preferably within packaging, plastics, manufacturing, or distribution
Demonstrated experience owning key or strategic customer accounts, beyond transactional selling
Proven ability to manage pricing, margins, and contract negotiations, including RFP/RFQ participation
Experience working with distribution or channel partners in a complex, service‑oriented environment
Strong ability to influence and collaborate across Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance
Comfort operating in an individual contributor role with full account accountability
Willingness to travel approximately 30–35% across a multi‑state territory
Nice to Have
Experience within rigid plastics, injection‑blow molding, or container manufacturing
Multi‑site or national account exposure
Experience operating within a matrixed or enterprise organization
Familiarity with West Region markets
