We’re partnering with a well-established organization in the wholesale food distribution industry to add an Income Tax Preparer to their Grand Rapids team. This is a fully onsite role with consistent hours and a supportive, structured work environment—ideal for someone who enjoys focused, independent work. This role supports a well-established distribution organization with more than 20,000 employees nationwide. The tax team works in a building located just across the street from the main campus, making it easy to walk over for lunch, Starbucks, and other amenities. The company offers a welcoming onsite environment with holiday events, a cafeteria, and fun extras like ice cream and popcorn. The dress code is professional but relaxed—jeans (no holes) paired with a nice top such as a button-down or sweater, with advance notice provided if client meetings require more formal attire.

Responsibilities

Individual Income Tax Returns (1040s):

• Scan and organize client information received via mail or in-person meetings

• Input tax data accurately into tax preparation software

• Perform self-reviews before submitting work for final review

• Flag questions or notes as needed and continue progressing through work independently

Mail Processing:

• Retrieve mail from the drop box

• Organize and scan documents

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and problem-solve

• Open to feedback and able to apply it consistently

• Quiet, professional, and presentable in an office environment

Preferred / Plus:

• Any experience with 1040s (including preparing your own returns)

• Basic tax knowledge (e.g., familiarity with W-2s)

• Experience with UltraTax
