Position Summary
The Retail Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing strategies that drive awareness, traffic, and sales across Standard Wellness’s retail footprint (The Forest dispensaries and affiliated retail partners). This role balances creativity with compliance and translates brand strategy into engaging compliant campaigns that connect with patients and adult-use customers alike. The Retail Marketing Manager works cross-functionally with operations, compliance, digital, and product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across all touchpoints while executing data-driven pricing promotions. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement localized marketing plans for each dispensary, balancing brand consistency with community-specific relevance. Plan and manage in-store promotions, events, and product launches that align with compliance regulations in each state. Partner with digital marketing to integrate CRM, loyalty, and geo-targeted campaigns that drive store visits and repeat customers. Oversee design, print, and deployment of in-store signage, menus, and promotional materials that meet DCC, DOH, DCR, and UDAF compliance standards. Build strong internal relationships with Retail and Wholesale teams. High focus on dispensary pricing to ensure The Forest is competitive with neighboring dispensaries Collaboration with cannabis purchasing function to confirm that when promotional events are in store, that there is inventory to support those events, Brand & Retail Experience
Ensure every dispensary reflects the company’s brand values through consistent visual merchandising, storytelling, and customer engagement. Collaborate with the Product and Creative teams to highlight new products, seasonal drops, and brand-specific campaigns (e.g., The Standard, The Solid, LaDiDaDi, Fish Whistles, Great American, Black Sheep), LTO’s. Maintain brand integrity across all customer-facing materials and ensure that each store experience mirrors our mission and design ethos. Analytics & Performance
Track KPIs including foot traffic, transaction count, basket size, and campaign ROI by market. Work closely with retail operations and finance to evaluate the impact of marketing initiatives and reallocate budgets for optimal performance. Have an above-average AlpineIQ, SpringBig understanding and POS systems to build targeted campaigns, improve retention, and understand consumer segments. Be an expert in Dutchie Backoffice, Dutchie Admin, Dutchie POS, and Dutchie Brand Portal. Build relationships with local communities through event sponsorships, educational sessions, and advocacy initiatives. Manage external vendor and agency relationships for photography, printing, local media, and promotional goods. Ensure all communications are compliant with state advertising restrictions and company policies. Qualifications Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail, field, or brand marketing. Strong understanding of cannabis compliance and state-specific advertising regulations. Experience managing local retail campaigns and multi-location marketing calendars. Excellent communication and project management skills and highly capable of working cross functionally and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Data-driven mindset; ability to interpret retail analytics and ROI performance metrics. Proficiency with CRM and retail marketing tools (AlpineIQ, Dutchie, iHeartJane, Mailchimp, Canva/Adobe Suite, etc.). Proficiency with WordPress Qualifications Preferred
Experience in a vertically integrated cannabis company or multi-state operation. Familiarity with point-of-sale integrations, loyalty programs, and compliance-approved SMS/MMS marketing. Creative mindset with an eye for visual presentation and experiential retail. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire collaboration across departments. KPIs for Success
