JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To:
Project Manager/Sr. Project Managers
Position Summary This position manages on-site coordination for all phases of the projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that drawings & specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities
Lead the direction of the jobsite
Schedule subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects
Manage carpenters, laborers, and sometimes others on jobsites, and participate in employee feedback and evaluations
Perform quality control responsibilities regarding the work being performed
Ensure subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work
Maintain continuous communication with the project team (Owner, A/E, Subcontractors) regarding schedules and critical issues
Keep construction documents up to date; check dimensions and details between changes; document changes and discussions; review shop drawings and as-builts
Maintain a weekly schedule and develop an ongoing 3 to 4 week look ahead schedule
Keep subcontractors on track and on time; coordinate onsite presence and material delivery times
Quality control – develop punch lists prior to subcontractors completing their work and ensure work is per drawings and specifications and completed with quality workmanship
Document and record safety issues; hold a weekly safety meeting
Cost control around material schedules and T&M slips; keep within budget
Submit daily reports regarding invoices and tool rental
Write daily reports on Procore
Maintain timesheets for employees on the jobsite
Classify vendor invoices related to the job
Cross-train others; increase knowledge regarding MEP
Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously
Resolve conflicts between subcontractors and vendors
Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs and meet commitments
Maintain a positive attitude to bring the team together to accomplish the work
Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise all subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and carpenters on a daily basis to ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work is performed.
Hiring Requirements / Preferences
Minimum of 5-10 years of verifiable experience on a commercial construction site
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Proficient with Procore. HH2 software experience preferred.
Proficient at reading blueprints
Detail oriented
Exceptional communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Self-starter
