Position Overview
Schedule: Full-time, exempt
Work Model: On-site
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all pharmacy department operations, including clinical services, workflow, and patient care delivery
- Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental goals, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, HIPAA)
- Oversee medication safety, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Manage pharmacy staff including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and corrective actions
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the departmental budget and resource allocation
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Integrate evidence-based practices into pharmacy operations and clinical protocols
- Collaborate with medical staff and hospital leadership to support patient care and organizational outcomes
- Foster a professional environment that supports staff development, accountability, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Active Utah Pharmacist license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Prior acute care hospital pharmacy experience
- Proven leadership and people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Previous pharmacy management or director-level experience
- Experience in a rural or community hospital setting
- Strong background in regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
