We\'re looking for an Estimator with finish carpentry experience who is ready to hop into a fast-paced culture. You will be responsible for all aspects of preparing hard bid construction cost estimates. Responsibilities include plan take-offs, estimating, proposal preparation, negotiations, pre-construction coordination, client relations, and bid tracking. We are looking for a self-motivated Estimator with sound judgement, strong communication/interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone with expertise in trim/finish carpentry projects who can confidently develop accurate construction bids. This is a mid-senior to senior level position. The Responsibilities
Review plans and job details so you understand what needs to be built and how the job will run Figure out how much material is needed and get solid pricing Work with the shop and field teams to understand labor time, install approach, and better ways to do the work Go to pre-bid meetings and job sites to see conditions firsthand and catch issues early Build clear, accurate bids that break out labor, materials, and outside costs Walk management through your numbers and explain how you got there Send bids on time and follow up to see what happened Keep bid info, pricing history, and job files organized Help improve how we estimate and bid work as we grow What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or 10 years’ experience carpentry construction Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain a business relationship with clients and vendors Experience estimating commercial and residential carpentry projects that include finish carpentry, and doors Knowledge of applicable codes and standards Experience with estimating takeoff software Experience estimating construction projects $10,000 to $5,000,000 Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PlanSwift and Quickbooks Superior written and oral communication skills
